01 Cookies and local storage are different
Cookies are small records that a browser can send with requests to a website. Local storage keeps values in the browser for the same site and does not automatically attach them to requests. Both can persist after a tab closes.
The static site code uses local storage only if you save a preference on this page. It does not store a contact draft, browsing history or personal profile. Menu state and prepared contact text are held in page memory rather than persisted by the script.
02 What is saved
| Item | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| zestnordicnoodl-cookie-preference | Stores “accepted” or “essential-only” after your choice | Until you remove it or the browser clears site data |
The preference is local to this browser and site origin. It is not synchronised by the website across devices. Both choices leave optional cookies disabled because this static site implements none. Selecting “Accept” does not activate tracking or grant permission for future, unspecified tracking.
03 Your local preference
Saving a choice is optional. You can read every page without doing so.
No preference has been read yet. JavaScript is needed to save or remove a choice here.
04 Browser and hosting controls
You can remove this record through your browser’s site-data settings. Blocking local storage does not prevent reading the website; it only prevents saving the choice. Private browsing may discard it automatically when the session ends.
Hosting infrastructure can have separate security or delivery behaviour outside this static code. Browser developer tools can show the cookies and storage actually present in your session. External websites opened from links have their own policies and controls.
05 Questions and changes
See the privacy notice for information about page requests and email correspondence. Contact [email protected] if you have a storage question. If optional services are introduced, the notice and any required controls should be updated before those services are used.
